We recently started using reporting objects in our team. Our end-users started using these reporting objects to create reports (via MRE).
These user created reports were working until a few days ago. Today, when the users click on their reports, they get an error message:
Reporting Object Focexec no longer exists. Please delete the report.
From what we can see, the reporting objects are very much there. I tried accessing these reports via Developer studio but couldn't locate them in there. On MRE, when I right click on these reports, it doesn't give me an option to view the code behind these reports.
Questions: 1. Can these reports be repaired or do the users have to creat it all over again? 2. How do we prevent errors like these in the future? 3. Is there a way to back-up the code so that it can be restored if this problem recurs?
We see Reporting Objects as the way to help meet our end-user's reporting needs and any help/guidance in how to use them effectively, without running into issues like the one's mentioned above would be valuable.

Did something on your server change. If the reporting object is lost then out of luck. MRE does not allow you to edit reporting object generated type reports is my belief.

Not sure what might have changed on the server. I'll get in touch with our WebFocus admin and see if they can shed any light on it. From what I can see, the reporting objects are out there. So they've not been deleted or anything.

Does this just mean you can physically see the files?(Unfortunately) the default repository "stores" all the information in html files, so if that file has a problem (or system path changes, or a number of other issues), it won't matter whether the files are physically there or not. You may want to have those files (like mrrepos.htm) checked as well

Darin
