[CLOSED] LINEBREAK in Report Painter
Hi,
Can we insert LINEBREAK into the stylesheet of the report using the tool instead of coding it.
Thanks

Please be more specific.

Do you mean " How to Display An and AnV Fields Containing Line Breaks on Multiple Lines"? It looks like this can only be done with code, with Report Painter removing the line if you open the report post-coding.

Or are you talking about some other kind of line break?

The tool will layout the code as it is designed to do, so I do not think that you will be able to do this. Even if you arranged it in the editor then the arrangement would be lost when you next opened it up in the tool.

I'm not exactly sure what it is you are trying to do, and I don't use the report painter. But the OVER keyword is often used to position one field over another. There should be a way to implement OVER via the tool. If your output format is HTML (and not Excel or PDF), then there is another approach as described in Waz's post at the link below. He uses a DEFINE that concatenates two fields with the HTML linefeed tag (BR) to place one field over the other within the same HTML table cell. You could use the Expression Builder in the painter to create a similar DEFINE for your report.
