something i just learned...when going to the dell website to look for equip for yourself, go to the small business area, click on Refurbished. There are 4 categories of Refurb:
1. busted and fixed (nope)
2. Outlet (this is the one!)
3. scratch & dent (well,maybe)
4. coming off lease.(eeww cooties)
Check the box for Outlet ... this stuff has never been out of the box...its stuff that got shipped out due to order screw ups, etc, and RMA'd to Dells Lexington VA location and is perfect. The prices are wicked cheaper, because Dell cannot resell it as 'new'. eg $150 off the new 765 box; another thing, if you buy , say, a monitor from Dell and then call and ask for an RMA number, they'll offer you $25 refund to keep it, and you say no thanks, and they offer you $50 to keep it. So do that for ANYthing you buy from them.

also, never buy servers off their website... call them or someone at CDW and tell them about the refurbished prices you find online.

There's a good sized margin on server hardware I'd imagine, that's why they don't bat an eye at giving 25%-50% under list.
