HTML Composer / Layout (Composer) Parameters
What am I missing? Was HTML Layout Painter broke or something? Why did it change so much in 769? Mainly, imho, the Parameters GUI is no wheres as good as it was in 764 or prior. Not to mention that it doesn't work? IF I'm wrong THEN I'll delete this post ELSE I'd like to know: was it broken?

Doug,

It is not that it was broken or not. We added more sophisticated chaining functionality in 769 and needed to update the interface to handle that. What specific issues are you facing?

When I went to 7.6.7 to 7.6.9 all of a sudden my html pages stop working. I would go into developer and my focexec that brought up the info in my list boxes weren't there.

Unless you guys have a hotfix for 7.6.9 which deals with html issues I think everybody should go back to 7.6.7 if you are having HTML issues.

Thanks for your feedback Dave. But, I'm on my way back to 764 because of this and a few other items (chaining, object controls, parameter interface...) that, imho, were better then...

Specific Issues: I'm checking in it to see if it an installation issue as opposed to a WebFOCUS issue. There was a lot of Java stuff done here and there Java stuff may be getting in my way. However, the issues are: ERROR Parsing Masters, List boxes not populating dynamically (from a fex or a file) Controls not displaying on my launch pages Yada Yada Yada ... So, I never got to the chaining because my controls don't populate in the first place...

My client reverted to 713. I tested the issues that I encountered with 769 and they are not issues in 713. So, we'll be here for a while.

As a consultant, I will use 769 sparingly in an effort to provoke an upgrade. They will handle further issues.

I think that some of this is coverded in the All I Want For Chritmas post as well. I'll keep you posted as to our progress.
