Is there a way to set up a distribution list to say "all burst values not sent to, please send to x"?

This came up with a salesperson report where a few salespeople had left the company, but we would like their data to go to a supervisor.

Thanks!

Do you create your distribution list dynamical?

We do something similar. I have a table with salesperson records and their mail address.
If a person leaves the company we put the exit date in that table and change his mailadres to the supervisor code.

By using this list as the base for the dynamic mail address we do almost exactly what you want.

If your distribution list is static can you change the email address to the supervisor instead of the sales rep ?
For example, if burst value of REGIONA was going to John Doe and John Doe left the company and you want REGIONA to now go to his supervisor of Jane Doe change the email address for REGIONA to go to Jane Doe.

That's what I figured, but was trying to avoid extra complexity.

Maybe they could add the option in a dist list or dynamic addr list of a * to send all records, and a - or something to send all un-bursted records.

Just a thought.

We just set up an additional entry for the burst value to the person who needs all the reports on each of the 'burst options' the individual receive. May not be the most elegant, but it works.

We go with Frank's suggestion. It really is pretty simple. Just a fex to create the distribution list and then choose dynamic list and specify the fex's name.

How do you send the dynamic distribution to the report library?

I think this is an other question.
Do you want to know how you create a dynamic distribution list?

BTW your signature???
