HELLO EVERYONE I AM TRYING TO CREATE A REPORT WHERE THE USER ENTERS THE VALUE FOR CUSTOMERID USING THE FOLLOWING OCDE IN MRE. THE PROBLEM IS ITS WORKING FINE WHEN CUSID IS NULL BUT WHEN THE USER GIVES A VALUE FOR CUSID ITS GIVING ERROR THAT (FOC295) A VALUE IS MISSING FOR: CUSID. THANKS FOR UR HELP
-SET &WHERE3 = IF &CUSID NE '' THEN 'WHERE CUSTOMERID EQ &CUSID' ELSE ' '; TABLE FILE SQLOUT PRINT CUSTOMERNAME CUSTOMERID &WHERE3 END
Good call, Tex! You need the single quotes around the value otherwise webfocus thinks you're doing a field to field comparison, instead of a field to value comparison.
But if the -SET breaks over more than one line (GT 80 characters), then you might need to spread the where test over two lines. e.g.,:
-SET &WHERE3 = IF &CUSID NE '' THEN 'WHERE CUSTOMERID EQ ''' | &CUSID | ' - ELSE ' '; JCThis message has been edited. Last edited by: <Mabel>,
