[CASE-OPENED] Q: MHT on MVS in WF 7.7.03 - Error opening file
Does anyone have an example of using .MHT files in WebFOCUS 7.7.03 on MVS? We have an application in 7.1x that uses .MHT files and runs successfully. The same code was migrated to WF 7.7.03 and the DCBs are the same for the .MHT files on MVS. The original .MHT macro was created in Exel 2003. We now have Excel 2010. but we are getting "error opening file" in WebFOCUS 7.7.03.
Example below.
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM RCOST DCOST
BY COUNTRY
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K TEMPLATE 'STMTFRMT' SHEETNUMBER 1
END

Thanks in advance,
Rhonda

Check it out on a machine which still has Excel 2003 as it's most likely a difference with Excel 2010, not WebFOCUS.

Yes and therein lies the problem. We only have Excel 2010. Does anyone have this working with Excel 2010?

Bummer...

You need someone with Excel 2010 and 7.7.03 on MVS...

It may take a CASE with IB. It may be easier to get a laptop (or something) with Excel 2003 on it...

I suspect that ASCII output is being subjected to EBCDIC-to-ASCII translation somewhere along the way to the browser. If so, Excel would rightly complain that it is unreadable.

Compare the entries for .mht in each of the mime files for the two releases.

.MHT is a character format; but even on an EBCDIC platform it will be ASCII encoded as it emerges from the WFRS agent, so the setting should be "binary" (to suppress code translation).
