Dropping records???

Here's what's happening: The file has 1,059,119 records, when run without exclusions my query returns 1,046,296 records. So somehow it's dropping 12,823 records. I don't believe it's the master file definition because the query is returning data and if the M.F.D was the problem it shouldn't work.

The code is a simple pull

Are you aware that you have a reserved word "rectyp" in your master? Rectyp is usually followed with alias = 'value'. It could be that those extra records are not defined. Suppose you have multiple rectyps of A,B, and C. Suppose again that only the B rectyp is defined. When you do your table request only the B rectyps are returned and the other undefined rectyps are ignored. The 12k+ records could be the other undefined rectyps (in this example the A's and B's).

I have changed "Rectyp" to "Detsum" and still the same results.

And to be honest, I can make the code do just about anything. When it comes to MFDs, I'm a newbie. I have no idea what you mean by:

try using Recordformat and recordlength in your FILEDEF

..... (REC F LRECL 233

The prgrammers say call IBI, but I see faster responses here.

If your Master is for a flat, CSV, VSAM or other non DBMS file, errors in the Master will not necessarily cause an error in the fex, the program may return results with or without displaying error messages (such as field format errors). Check the Master.
