HTML has dates and Run Deferred option. I need to give an alert if its more than 12 months and defer should not run. How to do stop the same?

Return false; in Javascript didnt work!

Are you actually running WebFOCUS 7.7? I'm not sure if I understand the question.

As far as I understand your question the answer is that you need to validate the selected period not to be more than 12 months, send an error to the user and stop the propagation

As for javascript, it all depend how it is coded (and in which function)

How about using the builtin Calendar Control with a limit of 12 months instead of JavaScript? That would prevent the possibility of the users entering any date beyond 12 months.
