[CLOSED] Excel documents will not open in Report Library
We just "Upgraded" to WF 8105m and for some reason documents that logged to the report library with Excel (tried EXL2K, EXL07,XLSX) as the output will not open when you double click or right click and select open. They will open if you right click and click Save As.

This works fine on our DEV and BETA servers and the only difference is our production servers are clustered.

I am using IE 11
Windows 7 64 bit

What I have tried.

Tech support told me it was a MS office patch that needed a fix but if it were the patch it would not work anywhere.

It works in Chrome and Firefox but if it were in IE issue it would not work anywhere.

It has been tested in a 32 bit environment but if it were a 64 bit issue it would not work anywhere. (this all worked fine in 7.6.10)

I made some changes to excel but that also did not help and again if it were an excel issue it would not work anywhere.

Has anyone else had this problem or know of a server setting that needs to be change?

Thanks
JV

Jveselka,

You mention - "report library with Excel as the output will not open when you double click or right click and select open" - DO you receive an error message?

Also, "Tech support told me it was a MS office patch " - did you open a case for this issue and receive this information?

Please clarify what you mean by - "but if it were the patch it would not work anywhere" Did you apply the patch and what were your results?

This is a issue that occurs only in IE 11 and not Chrome or Firefox - correct?

Please verify that the settings on the Administration console are the same in PROD as you have in DEV and BETA - since it sounds like the reports are working in these environments.

Does your report have the setting SET EXCESRVURL = ' ' <- this can also be found within the Administration console/ Configurations/ Client Settings/General as -> IBIF_excelservurl

The EXCELSRVURL identifies the location on the application server to be used to zip the file components that comprise an EXCEL 2007 file(xls). When left blank as in this case, the JSCOM3 listener on the Reporting Server
will wake up and handle the request solely on the Reporting Server.
