We may have deleted a number of fexes...or accidently copied to another folder. Is there a simple way to search an environment for a particular file name? This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,
From the web interface under the drop down for your log in there is an option to use the Legacy Home Page. Then you can right mouse click on the Domains folder and there is a search option. For the reporting server the best way is to get directly on the system and use the search tool of your choice. I need to research automating the daily export but I think there is a way. I will get back to you on that.
Thank you for using Focal Point!

So, we were told our TEST and DEV are backed up daily...no weekly or monthly snapshot is kept. Does it work this way at your organization? So files were relatively newly developed stuff - not in production --was deleted late in the day yesterday...unknowingly. The next day (today) we realized the fexes were gone, but since there were not there last night, they could not be restored by our IS team...
Legacy HOme / Search...FOUND THE FILES. Somehow were copied to another folder. THANKS.
Now we must find a way to package the entire domain into an export each night and maybe schedule via Report Caster or something. That should cover us in case something is ever really lost.
What we now want to do is the equivalent of: 1) Create a new Export file (usually done by Right Click and provide an export name) We of course would like the name somehow automatically assigned by the 'automated process'.
2) We would drag our root Domain into the export and create a package.
3) We would like they export creation process to be able to be scheduled and run at a set time each day...perhaps via Report Caster?
Perhaps this is a good opportunity to investigate whether any of the (limited number of) version control systems supported by WF82 would be useful to you.
With such a system in place, as long as you regularly commit your changes to the VCS, you can always revert the deletion of those files. You'd have a lot less reason to panic
It's also helpful in many other ways. There's plenty of documentation on that.

right now we have to live with only the daily backups that are overwritten and / or manually creating and export of the entire domain, naming it(20201014export) and repeating each day.
We really want to automated that process if possible. Its our only option at the moment..all we control is creating exports.
