I have a report in which a user will input an agent number via an HTML screen. The agent number contains both letters and numbers. When I use this agent number amper variable in a FOCUS language WHERE clause, it is case sensitive. I am using a master file against an Oracle database.

Is there a way to either:
(1) Code the FOCUS language to ignore the case sensitivty
OR
(2) Using Dialogue Manager, convert the input string to CAPS?

Thanks!
Mark

Uppercase function:

UPCASE(length, input, outfield)

-SET &SELECT1 = UPCASE(&INSTR1.LENGTH, &INSTR1, 'A&INSTR1.LENGTH');

You could then try the following selection criteria on the Oracle table - it may get translated to SQL (turn on SQL traces to find out):

WHERE UPCASE(50, TABLE_COLUMN_NAME, 'A50') CONTAINS '&SELECT1'

Kevin and Francis - Thanks for your assistance. I knew there was a function to do it, I just couldn't figure out the syntax.

Works great.
