Hi all
Is it possible to put a timeout on WebFOCUS agents based on a 'Connection ID' (or something else) ?
We have on demand reports in Self Serve area which users frequently access. We also have scheduled reports in Report Caster which are generated weekly/monthly etc.
My intent is to allow a longer time for Report Caster schedules to be executed and put a smaller cap on the time allowed for on demand reports.

Please let me know if anyone has faced a similar situation before?

Thanks
Syed

Try setting up another service in the same server for the RC jobs to use. You could alter the CPU limits for each service to conform to your requirements.

Thanks GinnyJakes.
I'm not sure if that would be an option in the current set up that we have.
I will need to check with my admin team.

Hi
I checked with my admin team here, and it looks like setting up another service for RC schedules is not an option right now.

Any other thoughts on how to handle this situation?

Thanks
Syed

If that's not an option, then you've pretty much eliminated the possibility. That's the way it needs to be done. It's not a complicated process, so I don't know why it's not an option. The only other way is if all RC processes run as the same user, you could increase resources for that specific user.

Darin - all of our schedules use the same userID.
Could you please give me some pointers on how to control resources for a specific user?

Thanks
Syed
