Yes, it is a necessity to specify each column name when using OVER.
Here's a technique to automate the process of getting each column name - use the system table SYSCOLUM to retrieve the names of the column for the table and build the WebFOCUS OVER code:
SET ASNAMES=ON
SET HOLDFORMAT=ALPHA
SET HOLDLIST=PRINTONLY
TABLE FILE SYSCOLUM
PRINT
COMPUTE COUNTER1/I8 = COUNTER1 + 1; NOPRINT
COMPUTE OVER_TEXT/A5 = IF COUNTER1 EQ 1 THEN '' ELSE 'OVER ';
NAME
WHERE TBNAME EQ 'CAR'
ON TABLE HOLD AS HCARCOLS FORMAT ALPHA
END
-RUN
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
-INCLUDE HCARCOLS
END
-RUN
