One of the folks in our group changed laptops and now his EXL2K files don't automatically open in Excel.
Instead it opens a "Open With" dialog box. Does anyone know how to stop the dialog box from appearing and open the file directly in Excel?

KQT1,
Not sure how it works in WF7, but in WF8 you can add a line of code to get the .fex to force it to push to Excel as an .xls:
ON TABLE SET WEBVIEWER ON
Sounds like he needs to associate that file type with Excel and he should be good after. Not sure though if that's the case.
Good luck!

This issue is resolved. The person was using Chrome as their browser. When they switched to IE the Excel opened fine.
Thanks

KQT1,
This is an issue that Chrome actually introduced. I think it might have to so with .xht or .mht extension. Not quite sure. But you can avoid this by changing the redirection settings. if you update the .xls extension to save to the reporting server first, it should alleviate the issue in chrome. I forget which version of chrome that introduced this issue, but it was within the last year or two.
