This is my first time in this site. Thank you for all of you reading my question. My company is using Webfocus 8 and i was able to schedule task for running some .fex files. However, after it generated an excel report, i couldnt either open or copy/paste to my email in order to send the report out. Have you encountered this before? Thank you.
The output format is excel 2000 .xlsx file. Size is about 4MB.
I used the managed report to schedule this task and i was able to generate the excel file. But i couldnt either open it or copy/paste to local desktop.
Weird thing is when i chose the output format to web browser and ran which i was able to open it. But in this case, there is no meaning for me to schedule a task.
There is a limit on number of lines that an excel can hold. Try using CAR sample file and schedule excel 2000 .xlsx output format. On completion, open the excel report from your mail to confirm if it works with sample file.
The file format .xlsx is not valid for Excel 2000 or 2003. That file type is only valid beginning with Excel 2007.
If your code is generating a EXL2K file, then the file format cannot be .xlsx or .xlsm.
Actually, with EXL2K, the file format is not a true .xls file either and EXCEL 2007 and higher may claim the file is corrupt. In that case, you have to turn off Extension Hardening in Excel. There are several topics on the site concerning this.
