There is a book, DN4500708.1107, called WebFOCUS Graphics, that explains each and every function of the graph api, including the referencelineinsert. Examples are also provided in this book. You can find it on the IBI documentation website.

Master GamP, I had already searched the entire IBI site and found the description of the API in the book you mentioned. Why did I do that? Because I knew if I didn't, someone would respond as you did.
The reason I asked someone to provide an example is becase THERE IS NO EXAMPLE ANYWHERE I CAN FIND FOR THAT API.
When I try various inclusions of that API in a graph, I see no difference in the graph.

Then, please next time you post something, mention what you already did, just to prevent reactions like mine. If you don't, we can't know it ...
Having said that, on page 951 in the mentioned book there is a nice example of the reference line. Translated into an example for the car file it looks like:
APP APPENDPATH IBISAMP
GRAPH FILE CAR
SUM CAR.BODY.SEATS
BY CAR.ORIGIN.COUNTRY
ON GRAPH PCHOLD AS HOLD FORMAT PNG
ON GRAPH SET HAXIS 770
ON GRAPH SET VAXIS 405
ON GRAPH SET UNITS PIXELS
ON GRAPH SET LOOKGRAPH VBAR
ON GRAPH SET GRMERGE ADVANCED
ON GRAPH SET GRMULTIGRAPH 0
ON GRAPH SET GRLEGEND 0
ON GRAPH SET GRXAXIS 1
ON GRAPH SET GRAPHSTYLE *
setTemplateFile("/images/tdg/template/IBISouthWestern.txt");
setReportParsingErrors(false);
setSelectionEnableMove(false);
setPlace(true);
setDepthRadius(5);
setReferenceLine(getY1Axis(),0,25);
setTransparentBorderColor(getChartBackground(),true);
ENDSTYLE
END
Hope this helps ...

If you are taling about graphs and can't find out about the command, then look at www.threedgraphics.com, they are the ones that made the graph engine.
I just did a google for referenceLineInsert, and it was at the top of the list.
is a deep api call. The result of this is an integer value. You can't use this as-is in the graph style. The setreferenceline function (from the example) uses the referenceLineInsert method to do its trick.

I don't think the WebFOCUS documentation on so-called "graphics" is very good. A whole pile of Java methods and properties with very few poor examples.

I agree with you Francis. I have found that the best resource for the "Advanced Graphic" properties is available at Three D Graphics, Perspectives on the web, drill down to More. It's been bookmarked for years on my systems.
