Just out of curiousity, has anyone coded something for excel and it's limit of 65,536 rows? I was thinking of doing a count of 65,536 for one report and then start a count at 65,537 for 65,536 and create separate excel worksheets or if that didn't work I would create separate excel spreadsheets. I figure I can do this with compound reports Just wondering if anyone has already tried this or something similar and had success?
DEFINE FILE POLMAST
COUNTER/I9 = LAST COUNTER +1;
TAB/I4 = (COUNTER/65000) + 1;
PAGENO/A9 = 'PAGE '|EDIT(TAB);
END
-*
TABLE FILE POLMAST
PRINT PMPOL#
BY PAGENO NOPRINT
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K BYTOC
END
This is the last step in a report that must be in EXCEL and has more lines than EXCEL can handle or where the user only wants a certain number of lines per tab.
You could also upgrade to the new MS Office (eek!) where it can now handle a few million rows. That's the easiest solution but I'm not pushing anything Microsoft.

Darin
