Hi,
I have a dropdown box containing values.
ONce a value is selected fromt he drop down, it should be stored in a FOCUS variable. How can I implement this?
PLease Help...

In your html the dropdown box has a name(Example NAME="Country"). It is that name that you should use in your Focus procedure to do for example a selection. So the name of your drop down list becomes the variable name in your procedure.

 WHERE COUNTRY EQ '&County';

As Dirk says, Shylaja, are you using developer studion and populating the drop down first or importing a fex which resulted in you creating the box 'automatically'. If in Dev Studio, the parameters tab will show the current parameter list and if you click on the drop down box, it highlights the parameter name currently assigned to that box if there is one.

I am using developer studio, not importing any fex.
I need to store the value selected from the drop down in a FOCUS variable for further use.
Please explain, how this could be done...

Hi Shylaja,

as Dirk's said. if you got a procedure that contains serch Creteria let say:-

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT *
WHERE COUNTRY='&Country';
END

thats mean your report will display the records that match your value you are pass it from your HTML page.

at the HTML page you will need to create drop down menue within same name of the parameter that you put it in your WHERE statment in the Procedure. Country

hope this will help
