Has anyone seen this error before in the Dashboard?

Error Getting XML Tree

We have a user in Guantanamo Bay who gets this error when trying to expand a Domain's list of Standard Reports in the Dashboard. We have seen this pop up periodically, and its usually with users who have a poor internet connection.

Could this be the result of something timing out? Is there a value I can increase to give the process more time to retrieve the folder contents?

Regards,
Jason Vipond

Good point Tony!

I asked around and as far as we know, our GB campus will stay open after the prison closes.

Any suggestions on where to find client timeout settings, or other settings that might help here?

It doesn't seem like a web/application server error, but just in case - we are using Tomcat 5.5 in a standalone configuration.

Have seen this before and I think it's down to having a very out of date IE6. We deleted the version on the machine and once Bin Laden had downloaded the latest service pack release from the great infidel Microsoft (it took ages on his satellite phone) everything worked fine...

That will teach him to not buy dodgy Windows CD's off ebay in future...

Did you hear about the man in China that was killed by his cellphone - probably caused by a dodgy battery...

You were joking about Gitmo....?

Francis

Just had a thought - the CIA should get B.Laden one of those flaky Chinese batteries for his satellite phone.

We have a campus on the naval station:
http://www.ccis.edu/nationwide/main.asp?Guantanamo

I believe our campus will continue to operate even after the prison is shut down.

The director of that campus uses VPN to connect to our main campus and run reports. He'll usually get the "Error Loading XML Tree" message, but can get through if he keeps trying.

Looking at the Domain that he's accessing, I do notice quite a few reports. Maybe that is partly to blame, since they aren't organized into folders.

We've had the same problem with some of our other campuses (although very intermittently) when their internet connection goes buggy.

Thanks for the IE suggestion, I'll see which version is being used, and upgrade if possible.

Any other suggestions??

Jason

We opened a case for this error and IBI replied that it is a known error and is fixed for 7.7 and the fix has been back ported to 7.6.6.
