Hi I need to replace the negative values in my output inside paranthesis. the subtotal or grand total should also be in paranthesis. ex:negative values should be enclosed by (value) Amount -189 -234 333 above values should come like (189) (234) 333
Add a "B" to the output format. (B is for bracket) Like:
AMOUNT/D12.2B

Darin

The totals are displayed in the same format as the column values, so if the total is negative, the value will be displayed in parentheses.

Umar, the IBI tech site has lots of information. Go to IBI.COM, click on Services and Suppport, then Tech Support. If you are not already registered, you'll need to do that first. It does not cost anything but you will need your site code. Once you're in, you'll see Advanced Search on the right hand side under Quick Links. Click on that. Enter FIELD FORMATTING OPTIONS for your search criteria. Click on the search button. You'll get back a lot of stuff but look for a entry titled FIELD FORMATTING. It was 23rd in my listing. For you it may be different. In the abstract and link, you'll see things making reference to the mainframe. That does not matter. One of the great things about this product is that the same thing works on all platforms. Once you click on that, pan down until you see NUMERIC FIELD EDIT OPTIONS. You'll see the B for the brackets they were telling you about plus some other stuff. I recommend you always go to the IBI tech site and search for what you need yourself because you post a question on the forum, you may not get an answer for a couple of hours, where if you look it up yourself, you could have the answer in the few minutes. Good luck. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Jessica Bottone,
