The manual states that the following syntax is supported and works with Windows, Unix & OpenVMS

Is there an equivalent OR modification that is needed with z/OS PDS Deployed Reporting Servers (mainframe) for 7.7.0.3? The only syntax I could find for Z/OS stated the following, but it does not specify you can use the TABLE FILE appname/mastername syntax on z/OS:

Reference: Allocating HOLD Files on z/OS

The HOLD file is dynamically allocated if it is not currently allocated on z/OS. This means the system may delete the file at the end of the session, even if you have not. Since HOLD files are usually deleted, this is a desired default. However, if you want to save the file, we recommend that you allocate the HOLD Master File to the ddname HOLDMAST as a permanent data set, and allocate the HOLD data file to a permanent data set as well. The allocations can be performed within the standard Reporting Server CLIST or batch JCL or in a profile or procedure. For example, if your procedure had the following command:

ON TABLE HOLD AS SALES

you could use allocations similar to the following:

ALLOC F(HOLDMAST) DA('qualif.HOLDMAST.DATA') SHR REUSE ALLOC F(SALES) DA('qualif.SALES.DATA') SHR REUSE
Note that ddname HOLDMAST must not refer to the same PDS referred to by the MASTER
and FOCEXEC ddnames.

To complete the execution of the ON TABLE HOLD command FOCUS will create a MFD and a data file.

The MFD, of the HOLD file, is a member of a PDS allocated to HOLDMAST.

The data, of the HOLD file, is a physical sequential (PS) file, that is stored according to the allocation of the name of the HOLD. HOLD file name = DDNAME of allocation.

You only need one HOLDMAST file, as each HOLD file MFD will become a member in this PDS.

If you don't want to keep your HOLD data files and MFD's you can let FOCUS do the temporary allocations.

If you want to keep the data and MFD around, you need to do your own allocations.

Why do you want to use TABLE FILE appname/mastername? Do you have multiple copies of a master and want to make sure you use the master in a specific application folder. You could use APP PREPENDPATH or APP PATH commands. APP PREPENDPATH will add the application folder to the top of the list of the application folders. APP PATH will remove all application folders except the one you specify and baseapp.
