Hi,

I Need to calculate the last month with :

-DEFAULT &BIS= '12.2017';
-SET &BIS = IF &BIS NE '' THEN &BIS + 1 ;

but I just get '13'. The Year is cut.

thried dateadd etc. nothing worked. I want the solution to be an variable, not a computed or define field.

There it is working (with define & compute)

Thanks"!!!

Having your parameter with a dot is considered as a decimal not a MM.YYYY so to be able to add 1 month, you need a date format.

It's not elegant, but it gives you the proper result in the same format as your input
-DEFAULTH &BIS= '12.2017'

-SET &MM = EDIT(&BIS, '99');
-SET &YY = EDIT(&BIS, '$$$9999');
-SET &YYMM = &YY * 100 + &MM;
-SET &BIS2 = AYM(&YYMM, 1, 'I6');
-TYPE &MM, &YY, &YYMM, &BIS2

-SET &BIS2 = EDIT(EDIT(&BIS2), '$$$$99') || '.' || EDIT(EDIT(&BIS2), '9999');
-SET &BIS = IF &BIS NE '' THEN &BIS2;
-TYPE &BIS

Please consider the DATEADD function for adding a month to the date and display it accordingly.

DATEADD(date, 'component', increment)

The number of units passed to DATEADD is always a whole unit. For example
DATEADD(DATE, 'M', 1.999)
adds one month because the number of units is less than two. so use:
DATEADD(DATE, 'M', 1)
