recently I have got an requirement to create an report that will be used by my user on demand reporting. I would like to know what are the options available in WebFocus 8.1.0.5M(using BI portal and app studio) to meet the on-demand reporting, and how can I achieve that, I mean what steps I need to follow to achieve the requirement. Please help ASAP.
Any help will be appreciated! This message has been edited. Last edited by: <Emily McAllister>,
If you are talking about Guided Ad Hoc reporting : a base report where the users can "define" the way they want it, here a tutorial (prior to WF8 but the technique remain the same).
You may also give them access to InfoAssist but this is another game where you will need (I suggest) either ReportingObject or BusinessView where the metadata will be built properly, with maybe DBA access in the master files and have proper access security defined.
But InfoAssist, OMHO, is for Power Users that know the data. Otherwise Guided Ad Hoc may be a solution.
WF versions : Prod 8.2.04M gen 33, Dev 8.2.04M gen 33, OS : Windows, DB : MSSQL, Outputs : HTML, Excel, PDF In Focus since 2007
