Hello! I am trying to figure out how to test the value in a table field. Here is the code I have below so far:
-SET &USER_NAME =myusername;
TABLE FILE EMPHIER PRINT ACCESS_LEVEL USER_NAME WHERE USER_NAME EQ '&USER_NAME'; ON TABLE HOLD AS USER_RECORD END -RUN
-*since there is only one record per USER_NAME in this table, the resulting table file request will always have one record unless the USER_NAME is invalid
What I want to do is check to see what the value of the field ACCESS_LEVEL (which is an alpha field) is and then do an IF statement to determine what to do depending on what the value of ACCESS_LEVEL is.
For instance, my thought would be something like this:
-IF ACCESS_LEVEL EQ 'LEVEL1' THEN GOTO LEVEL1ACCESS ELSE GOTO LEVEL2ACCESS;
This of course didn't work, which is why I am here :-)
Any help would be much appreciated and thanks in advance!This message has been edited. Last edited by: manglum,
Would the syntax for the -READFILE be something like this:
-SET &USER_NAME =myusername;
TABLE FILE EMPHIER PRINT ACCESS_LEVEL USER_NAME WHERE USER_NAME EQ '&USER_NAME'; ON TABLE HOLD AS USER_RECORD END -RUN -READFILE USER_RECORDS -TYPE ACCESS_LEVEL=&ACCESS_LEVEL
