I have the following code. There are no records for WA, so the report just skips over WA entirely. I need it to show WA with a blank line. Thank you.
TABLE FILE PART1 SUM INITTERMDT BY WC_STABB BY PARENT BY WC_CORP BY TYPE WHERE WC_STABB EQ 'AZ' OR 'NC' OR 'OH' OR 'OR' OR 'VA' OR 'WA' OR 'WI' WHERE INITTERMDT GE '&begdt' AND INITTERMDT LE '&enddt' END
Thanks. That worked perfectly. However, this is being held and used again later in the code. It doesn't appear to carry through. I will definitely keep this code in mind though, I hadn't seen this used before. Here's what I did that made my code work:
MATCH FILE PART1 BY WC_STABB RUN
FILE PART1 SUM INITTERMDT BY WC_STABB BY PARENT BY WC_CORP BY TYPE WHERE INITTERMDT GE '&begdt' AND INITTERMDT LE '&enddt' AFTER MATCH HOLD AS INITTERMINFO OLD-OR-NEW END -RUN
Unfortunately, when using OVER to force rows (empty or not) and then create a HOLD file, the field name with the OVER statement is blank and the alias becomes E01.
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
SALES
BY COUNTRY ROWS ITALY OVER ENGLAND OVER KOREA OVER JAPAN
ON TABLE HOLD
END
? HOLD
TABLE FILE HOLD
PRINT *
END
There's some explanation about this occurring due to OVER being part of the Financial Reporting Language, but I cannot accept this annoying behaviour.
