I have several questions on how to size a graph built by Advanced Graph Assistant.

The gray rectangle is based on the following code:
ON GRAPH SET HAXIS 520
ON GRAPH SET VAXIS 250

I modified the size manually. I can't find the properties for these two numbers in the Advanced Graph Assistant tool.

I would like to make the pie chart larger - I don't want all that margin around the graph. I took a look at the 1416 page WebFOCUS Graphics manual and couldn't find anything.

I tried to read all about the "Virtual
Coordinate System" - I don't understand why there are 32,000 "points". I don't know why the comment "This aspect ratio is essentially a golden rectangle, a form used since ancient Greece in art and architecture. It is naturally pleasing to the human eye" is helpful - how many graphs that we design will be of the golden rectangle aspect ratio?

quote:
The WebFOCUS Graphics default values are:
SET HAXIS=770
SET VAXIS=400
apparently gets translated to
quote:
setRect(getFrame(),new Rectangle(-10753,-12619,22378,19359));

How does one translate 770 x 400 to -10753,-12619,22378,19359?

So it seems that
setRect(getPieFrame(),new Rectangle(-8800.0,-15030.0,24853.0,30060.0));
in my code is the result of me setting my graph to 520 x 250. How do I reduce the margin (or increase the size of the graph within this 520 x 250 frame?

Hi Francis,

Probably won't like it, but, might want to change these values:

setPieTilt(20); chg to 50 to see the difference
setPieDepth(50);

Tom, thanks - 50 does make the graph bigger, but there's still a large margin...

You might try experimenting with method setPlaceMargin(new Rectangle (x,y,width,height))
