On our AIX server we have 9 sink machine processes running. One of the sink machine processes was modified to control a different focus database in a new folder. We have been experiencing intermittent problems with it. A user will be able to a execute a program successfully whether it is a modify or simple report. The next modify they attempt to execute they get a message user password does not provide access to the sink machine. I've have started the sink machine with echo on to capture sink machine activity and discovered 422, 762, 782, 787 codes on open and close operations. The sink machine does not crash. If the sink machine is stopped and restarted, the user can execute the program they could not before. The Focus release is 6.8.5 and the gen level is rel68/5.12399c. AIX is at 4.3.2 I would appreciate any assistance with this problem. Thanks
I passed this one around and was suggested that, it is better that you open a case with Information Builders' Customer Support Services for further assistance, as this may get very involved. To open a case, please either call at 1-800-736-6130, or access the online system InfoResponse at http://techsupport.ibi.com. Here is a list of information to be ready when you call: http://techsupport.ibi.com/before_you_call.jsp.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Kerry
