Hi, I have created a huge cluster synonym.Since there are more than 10000 columns i have created a Business view so that the InfoAssist user can only see a limited number of columns. But when a developer tries to create a report with that cluster he is also restricted to see columns that is only available in the business view. How can i change this setting so that when the master file is used to create a report in AppStudio it should list all the columns in the cluster. Please help me out.
Thank you Sivakumar Gopi. WF 8105M Windows 10This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,
Let's say this was possible (which I doubt it would be). The Developer creates a report using columns that are hidden from the users and publishes the report. When the users run that report, how will WebFOCUS show those columns to them?
If you're trying to hide columns from one group of users and show them to others, you may need to use DBA to restrict users from seeing these columns even though they're there.

Easiest solution would probably be to do a save as with your current cluster and flatten out the business view to make sure all the fields are viewable for your App Studio developers. You'll now have two separate clusters or active synonyms with slightly different names, and depending on which adapter you set it up in, your security with each role can be limited to which adapter or cluster they see.
