Hello,

I have an issue where I am trying to compare two files by an ID field. I would then like to filter out the IDs that appear in both files and display only the ids that exist in the first file and not the second.

Example:
If I have two data sources that look like this

file1
ID FNAME
1 Jim
3 Dave
5 Ted

file2
ID FNAME
2 Ed
3 Dave
4 Mike

The desired output would be
ID FNAME
1 Jim
5 Ted

Any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Sounds like a job for MATCH FILE, ie:
MATCH
 FILE file1
 PRINT FNAME
 BY ID
 RUN
 FILE file2
 BY ID
 AFTER MATCH HOLD OLD-NOT-NEW
END

Thanks! For some reason I didn't think MATCH was going to work for me but you put me back on the right track. Took some tweaking but I got it working.
