We are trying to utilize a popup window from a launch page so that selections can be made from list boxes (in MRE environment). My test is really simple. Parent opens child window with window.open().... Child later updates parent with the opener(). I created a child like "test.html". I can't seem to open this .html as a child in the MRE environment. Any direction will be greatly appreciated!This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

Is there a particular reason why you are doing this differently then that which is readily available and easily maintainable from within WebFOCUS? The norm would be to use the list / combo boxes for user selections. This is easily available via the HTML Layout Painter. Inquiring minds would like to know. Thanks...

Probably because HTML Layout Painter is too limiting for some people (like me).
The problem probably has to do with the location of the html file and the URL you're using to call that file. I don't think the URL for the pop-up window can address a file in an MRE domain - the file should be located in an Application folder (outside MRE) and the URL should address this file something like this: window.open("/approot/appname/filename.html", "winName",vFeatures);

Give me code, or give me retirement. In FOCUS since 1991

Yes, as to why differently. We have some fairly complex forms that take a lot of screen realestate. We are looking for ways to avoid our users having to scroll in order to complete a form of parameters. We have utilized a wizard approach.
Thanks for the idea Frances Mariani, I will give this a try!
