I am using SQL Report Component, the output of this component(by sql query) is directed to generate my graph.

Between this SQL Report Stage and its generated graph, i need to define a field.

Can i incorporate define or compute fields between the SQL Editor and its graph?

I have tried to define a new field between the SQL Editor and its graph, but it doesnt appear in my field selection of the generated graph.

Is there any other alternative to handle this situation?

I am using Webfocus7.1.

Yes, you can create the "defined" field within your SQL or compute it within your SQLOUT request -
SQL
  SELECT field1
       , field2
       , 'anything you like' AS field3
    FROM dbo.yoursqltablename
;
TABLE FILE SQLOUT
PRINT *
      COMPUTE newfield/A200 = .........;
ON TABLE HOLD AS TEMPHOLD
END
-RUN
DEFINE FILE TEMPHOLD
  yetanotherfield/A40 = .....;
END
GRAPH FILE TEMPHOLD
SUM field1
BY yetanotherfield
ON GRAPH SET GRAPHSTYLE *
....
ENDSTYLE
END

You get the drift?

On word of warning, don't exceed 80 chars in your SQLOUT request as anything beyond the 80 chars will be ignored.

Oh, and my preference would be to achieve the additional column in the SQL - more efficient in my book!

Thank you very much. Your sample code was very useful to resolve the problem.
