I have some InfoAssist reports on a dashboard that were developed by a power user. When I right-click and select "run" it works. When I select "edit source" it opens just fine. When I right-click and select "open" to open it in infoassist, I get a blank page with a dialog box that says "Empty List of Fields" and that's all. Click ok and the whole thing closes.
This is happening on several reports, but not all. They used to open just fine. I've already got a ticked opened with IBI, but no solution so far. Has anybody seen this before? Thanks. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
This report uses 3 tables. We use DBA security, and we use the central DBA file method, where each MFD points to one DBA file containing all the rules. Well, I took the DBA security rules from the central file, and entered them into each of the 3 MFDs. Then the problem went away. So, one at a time, I put the rules back into the central file until the problem came back. One of the 3 tables will not work when the rules are in the central file. The other 2 work either way. The kicker is, the problem file has exactly the same rules as one of the files that works both ways. Go figure.
IA gets the field list by doing a TABLE FILE SYSCOLUMN against the server. This should work with DBAFILE (and as you saw, it worked in 2 of 3 cases). Please open a case. Would like to see what is unique about your masters and dba.
