Hi,
Here is the problem I am facing.
I have Fiscal_Month_Display field in "MtrYY" format.
What I am trying to do is store the value [Fiscal_Month_Display] in a variable.
Its not storing it in MtrYY format instead storing it like '0000000092016'
Not sure how to fix it.
I plan to use the variable as a Display name of a field.

Below is my procedure.

--PROC1.FEX

-SET &PERIOD_PREV = 'July, 2016';

TABLE FILE DIM_DATE
BY FISCAL_MONTH_DISPLAY AS PERIOD_PREV
WHERE FISCAL_MONTH_KEY EQ 201
ON TABLE SET ASNAMES ON
ON TABLE HOLD AS PREV_FILE FORMAT ALPHA
END
-RUN
-READFILE PREV_FILE

-TYPE &PERIOD_PREV;

--RESULT
0000000092016;

--EXPECTED RESULT
September, 2016

I would suggest using FPRINT to convert the fiscal month to a string (assuming its a date field).
