I have a MRE user who would like to build a report from a database where all the data is stored in UPPERCASE. He would like the users to be able to use lowercase for the 'contains' when making the query.
Can this be done?
Thanks
prod: WF 7.7.03 platform IIS on Windows 2007, databases: Oracle, , MSSQL
Conversely, you can UPCASE the string used for the search. Works great when the reports can vary.
-DEFAULTS &WHAT = 'con'
-SET &LEN = 'A' | &WHAT.LENGTH; -SET &WHAT = UPCASE(10,'&WHAT.EVAL','&LEN.EVAL'); TABLE FILE CAR PRINT * WHERE BODYTYPE CONTAINS '&WHAT' END
Here, the string value is defaulted to 'con' (which is usually over-ridden by the users resonse). BTW, ALWAYS use '.EVAL' when using a User-written subroutine, at least that's been my experience.
