As of December 1, 2020, Focal Point is retired and repurposed as a reference repository. We value the wealth of knowledge that's been shared here over the years. You'll continue to have access to this treasure trove of knowledge, for search purposes only.

By the way, it means "WebFOCUS Open Reporting Portal" and you can find this text hidden in the Dashboard files: Drive:\ibi\WebFOCUS53\worp\worp_html\worp1\banner.html

Francis - definitely time to edit that dashboard file. I agree with Susannah, WORP is now officially renamed.
So, here's my suggestion for interview question... You get an EDASERVE crash error, what do you do: 1.) contact your company's server support group 2.) open a case with IBI Tech Support 3.) post your code in Focal Point oh, and let's not forget lest Tony takes umbrage All the above assuming you've already had training and you have consulted the manual.
Anyway, I just thought I'd post a comment that IBI Tech Support is not very supportive. Maybe they need to pay the virtuosos (e.g. Tony, Francis, Susannah, etc.) retainers fees...
I had actually suggested some form of payment, now that our FocalPoint answers are available in Information Builders Tech Support Search results, but I did not get a response!

One thing I would say is that the "follow the sun" support does open up the possibility of your case being dealt with by many good support people, although the days of the London Tech Support have gone as it is now centrally based in Belgium for Europe with vastly reduced support personel. I did think that, at one time, the London Tech Support was one of the best and very good .. but then I am biased as I did supply contract work for them in London for about three years
.. and don't worry about me taking Umbrage, I don't like their sports gear, I prefer Nike! lol

Hey guys and gals. I was out last week so I just got into this thread. I love Tony's comment about Old focus (uh, I mean FOCUS) programers never die, they just get functionaly stablized. That's funny. I also like the one about if FOCUS is in lowercase on a resume just throw it out. That is so true.
Here are my mindless comments:
Q: How many FOCUS programmers does it take to screw in a light bulb.
A #1: Where is the light bulb? Is it in the USA or in Europe? (Sorry Tony, I could not resist)
A #2: It depends. Does the programmer have access to Focal Point? If they do then it will take every FOCUS programmer in the world to screw in the bulb.
Q: Will the light bulb light up once it has been screwed in.
A: It depends. What's the version of the SOCKET?
Thanks!
Mickey
