[SOLVED] Normalize Flat File with Across Month

I wanted to minimize manual intervention in one of our process and wondering if you can help. We get this flat file every month that we have to load into a normalize db. The file provided looks like this:

BRANCH NOV2011 DEC2011 JAN2012 FEB2012 MAR2012
99999 10 10 10 10 10

Every month I would have to manually flip the months

FILENAME=FORECAST ,SUFFIX=FIX ,$
SEGNAME=ONE ,$
FIELD=BRANCH ,NODE ,A5 ,A5 ,$
SEGNAME=TWO, PARENT=ONE, OCCURS = 5 ,$ <----- I CHANGE THE OCCURS every month to pickup the new month
FIELD=FORECAST ,FORE ,P15.2B ,A15 ,$
FIELD=COLUMN ,ORDER ,I4 ,I4 ,$ MONTH ORDER


Any suggestion around this?

Dynamically create the Master, then FILEDEF the file. Search on EDAPUT...

Thanks.. I forgot to mention the fex/master are on the mainframe. Can we pass parameters to master file?

You do not need to pass a parameter to the MASTER. The word VARIABLE is a value for OCCURS and it tells WF to find out by itself the number of occurrences.
