I have a situation in which my users dont want a report to be genrated if a particular criteria is not met. For e.g. if the COUNTRY EQ ENGLAND then the report should be generate else no report should be generated at all.
IS the above mentioned thing possible. If its not, can we atleast show them an error message when the criteria is not met.
Thanks for your time. This message has been edited. Last edited by: sumant,
WebFOCUS 7.7.02Windows Output Formats: Excel, HTML, PDF
SET EMPTYREPORT=OFF
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT *
WHERE COUNTRY EQ 'USA'
END
That will *not* give you a report which is exactly what you expect but the output may not be too elegant.
You can evaluate the &LINES variable and if its value is zero, then customize a more appropriate message (perhaps in an .htm file of your own) and display that instead.
Search this forum for keywords such as "NO DATA" and you should get some ideas as to how to handle this.
