We are trying to come up with a better method than we currently have for capturing errors in the WebFOCUS world in our overnight batch process. Is there a way to set the RETURN CODE that anyone has come up with? We currently submit a batch file from our mainframe z/Os system which kicks off a Report Caster job. Our current process is inefficient as to catching errors when they occur. Thus the need for a way to check a return code.
Thanks.

If I remember correctly the code you want is EXIT FOCUS [return code]
So for instance, if you had a three part process, each part of which utilises the previous parts output. Then you might want to exit with a particular return code if no records exist in the interim file -
-IF &RECORDS NE 0 THEN :Continue_1;
-EXIT FOCUS 22
-:Continue_1
