I have a report that is COMMA delimited by this code:
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT COMMA
when I run this manually or deferred everything is fine. See below:
022608,"S5338411 ","0002","TESK ", 4.60,010299
I now have FTP scheduled files setup but the output file is whacked. This is some of the output now...
¡! $ Æ$ >$ h$ h$ ‚$ h General yyyymmdd mmddyyyy ddmmyyyy
So...
1). How do I get around this? 2). If I use output WP, how do you get around the spaces, tabs between the data? I'm trying to do the following with this FTP'd file:
LOAD DATA INFILE 'e:\\SAPrepository\\download\\ta_west_po.txt' INTO TABLE ta_west FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' LINES TERMINATED BY '\n'
Have you tried removing the ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT COMMA and just specifying the COMMA output format within ReportCaster? Is the default FTP method ASCII or binary?
Try creating the hold file from the server console and saving it somewhere on the server like in baseapp (APP HOLD BASEAPP and ON TABLE HOLD FORMAT COMMA should do the trick). Then enter an interactive FTP session from a system prompt on the same server, and manually FTP it to your destination. If the resulting file is still garbled, the FTP process is the problem. If not, we keep poking at things in ReportCaster. Good luck.

Darin
