[SOLVED] Compound Excel number of tabs limit

Greetings All,

Can anyone please let me know if there is limits on number of tabs a compound excel can have? Or size limit or so?

I believe it's still a limit of 255 tabs in one workbook in Excel.

I have a few workbooks with over 100 sheets.


In FOCUS since 1985. Prod WF 8.0.08 (z90/Suse Linux) DB (Oracle 11g), Self Serv, Report Caster, WebServer Intel/Linux.

That's quite helpful.

Just to confirm, can there be a limit on the size of excel being generated out of the script (compound excel). My spreadsheet is little rich in terms of contents and formatting within, that's why huge in size. Just wondering if this could be an issue.

The limit that you should have will normally be the one based on the Excel version you are using.

Focus creates a file/report as per the selected format, then you need to refer to the format specifications to know the possibilities and limitations.

The "format specifications" are those that apply to the chosen format.

As for Excel it will be the things that can be included in an Excel spreadsheet depending on the Excel version you are using : Excel-97, Excel Y2K, Excel 2007 (xlsx), ...
Each format will have its own possibilities and limitations that are not defined by Focus but by Microsoft.
