I am pretty new to Developer Studio and I need to compare four address fields in one file to four address fields in another file. One file could have addr1 as "100 OAK ST." and the other could have "100 OAK STREET", etc. The best thing I have some up with to use is the STRIP or STRREP functions to eliminate periods, Street, Lane, etc. However this seems very cumbersome since to my knowledge, I can only Strip one thing out at a time. Any other ideas that could make comparing two text fields easier?

Take a look at the SOUNDEX function to see if it might be helpful.

I tested a few and it looks like the SOUNDEX may work great. Thanks!
