i am trying to use a Basic edit Function (Format conversion) Within Define in InfoAssist.
i.e; ABC/A6=EDIT(BLTDT); the original format of BLTDT is HYYMDI When i do the above using the Define tool in InfoAssist and click on OK,i am getting an error i.e;
FOC36346 - Incorrect Use of DATE-TIME Field or constant.
Exactly what it says: "Incorrect Use of DATE-TIME Field or constant". You cannot manipulate a Date-Time field with an EDIT. What would you like to do with this Date-Time column? There are a lot of functions for Date-Time columns, check the manual.

Give me code, or give me retirement. In FOCUS since 1991
Production: WF 7.7.05M, Dev Studio, BID, MRE, WebSphere, DB2 / Test: WF 8.1.05M, App Studio, BI Portal, Report Caster, jQuery, HighCharts, Apache Tomcat, MS SQL Server
I, as many others in the forum, have a copy of all the manuals available, they can be downloaded from IBI. Have a look at the link at the top of the screen, it says Tech Doc Search
There is also a search engine that will search Focalpoint, Documentation, and many other information sources.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Waz,
