Graph - X axis Date format
Hi,

As per my requirement I need to get the X-axis date to be displayed as "Dec.2006".

I have used the following code:
TABLE FILE &&PERFGOOD
PRINT
FIRM
MET_P/D16.2
GOOD_P/D16.2
MON_INTVL
AND COMPUTE
TRANSDATE/YYMD = HDATE(FROM_DT, 'YYMD');
TIMELINE/MtY=TRANSDATE;

I get the ouput as "Dec, 2006".
Can anyone tell me how to change the date format as per my requirement?

Thanks and Regards,

If you are only going to run that job that week, change the frequency to weekly and then select the specific days you want to run the job. Use the Advanced button to select the beginning/ending dates so the schedule does not execute every week.

change the format to an long alpha field and replace the comma with a point.

ADATE/A17=EDIT(TRANSDATE);
NEWDATE/A17=CHGDAT('YMD','MtYY',ADATE,'A17');
NTIMELINE/A17=EDIT(NEWDATE,'999')|'.'|EDIT(NEWDATE,'$$$$$9999' );

But I can not test this, so I'm not sure if it will work

frank, i think the edit on a smart date will bring back the alpha version of the smart value which will be something like 37204.

pedantic, but works
define this function and put it in your edasprof (works in 71..doesn't work in 52)
 DEFINE FUNCTION F_EDATE(indate/YYMD)
 temp1/I8YYMD = indate ;
 temp2/A8     = EDIT(temp1);
 mn/A2        = EDIT(temp2,'$$$$99');
 year/A4      = EDIT(temp2,'9999');
 mn3/A3       = DECODE mn('01' 'Jan' '02' 'Feb' '03' 'Mar' '04' 'Apr' '05' 'May' '06' 'Jun'
               '07' 'Jul' '08' 'Aug' '09' 'Sep' '10' 'Oct' '11' 'Nov' '12' 'Dec');
 F_EDATE/A8   = mn3 | '.' | year ;
 END
..
then in your fex
DEFINE FILE myfile
NEWDATE/A8 = F_EDATE(TRANSDATE);
END
TABLE FILE myfile
BY TRANSDATE BY NEWDATE
and it works very nicely.

yes this was the other way....
not my favorit, but when it works

I never used functions, I'll take a look in the docs.
