I did my search of the forum first and didn't find my answer. When I as administrator go to create a report, and I want to create a define where I use &DATE in the define, I am able to bring the drop down list down BUT my developers can't. They can only bring it down in the page header area. Is this correct? I thought they should be able to see the variables every where. Is there something I need to set to allow then. thanks for reading this newbie's questions.

Yes, we do and that is where they can see the system variables only in the page header. When they put their cursor in the page header, the system variables show up in the "object inspector" BUT when they go to the WHERE/IF section, the system variables no longer show up in the "object "inspector" for them but they do for me who is an administor. They want to use the system variables in some date calculations in the procedure.

The developers don't see the System Variables in the WHERE Expression Window? Do they see anything at all on the left hand side of the window? The OK and Cancel button?
If this is the case, it might be because the left section of the window is hidden, just drag the dividing border to the right
If this doesn't help, I'd open a case with Tech Support.
