Good day,
I am trying to setup a conditional where statement on a sql file. In my non-IBI software I set it up like:
If company = 512
where businessunit <> 51299
where businessunit <> 51291
end if

I'm trying to do this within webFOCUS but would like some pointers to how to do it.
I know I cannot use an if within a where statement. I know that DM only use amber variables, so I cannot use the table value company field. Do you have any pointers? Thanks.

What kind of SQL accessible DBMS allows for an IF statement with embedded WHERE statements?

Would this translate to:

WHERE 
COMPANY = 512 
AND NOT BUSINESSUNIT IN (51299, 51291)

you're right, what dbms would allow that? I had to go back to my report software and get a quick refresher of what I did. It reads the table then calls another section of the report to process the company it just read. So it processes each company individually, I'm looking to do a similar thing within the webFOCUS tools.
if company = 512
where business unit not in (51299, 51291)
else if company = 513
where business unit not in (51399, 51391)

etc.
