I currently have a compound excel report which consists of 11 tabs, tab 1 - nationwide, tab 2 - region 1 summary, tab3 - region 1 detail, tab 3 - region 2 summary, tab 4 - region 2 detail, etc...for 5 regions. Each tab contains 7 reports across the spreadsheet, but I don't use across logic. I've joined all my summary hold files into one file and report from the final hold file; I handle nationwide and detail the same way . The compound reports are called with -includes. Now they want the first report on each tab, which is currently a rolling 12 months, to be duplicated as a separate report directly below the first report on each tab but only report ytd data. I've tried placing my summary ytd report directly under the summary report, prior to calling the detail compound report but this didn't work. I don't think I can use the nobreak logic because of the requirement of nationwide, summary, detail being on separate tabs. Any ideas? Thanks. This message has been edited. Last edited by: linus,

Okay, it's a bit hard to keep up with what you're doing...
But it is to possible to use no-break in excel. ( I think that is one of your questions... )
SET COMPOUND = OPEN SET COMPOUND = NOBREAK -inc tab1-report1 SET COMPOUND = NOBREAK -inc tab1-report2 -inc tab2-report1 SET COMPOUND = NOBREAK -inc tab2-report2 SET COMPOUND = CLOSE -inc tab3-report1
this should work fine.

Thanks, but that won't work. I have one fex that I loop through 5 times for the summary tabs, and one fex that I loop through 5 times for the detail tabs. The detail report is an include so I go through the summary report for the first region, then -include the detail report for the first region, then come back to the summary report for the second region, -include the detail report for the second region, etc. for all five regions. I just tried setting compound to nobreak for the summary report, and the summary report with the ytd data, then setting it to break prior to the -include for the detail report. WF gave me a 'error in compound report' error.

They way you describe seem to me like the right solution.
Only tricky thing is to keep track of when to place "open" "no-break" "" "close". Have you checked the generated dialog commands to see whether all "SET COMPOUND = " statements are in the right places...
And don't forget the compound close just before the last TABLE.
