Alek_COMPUND EXL2K DOESN'T OPEN IN WIN2000
Hello, I created a compound report with output to EXL2K. It opens fine in Windows XP but doesn't in Windows 2000, it gives some XML code instead of a spreadsheet.
Thanks in advance

LeahI believe that what gets passed is a form of xml, so I'd venture a guess you have to change a windows setting or IE setting somewhere.
My customers are living with error messages because they've gone to office 2007. Fortunately the file still opens.

Alek_Thanks Leah, I tried to modify Folder Options>File Types>XLS, but it didn't help. Maybe Excel on Windows 2000 doesn't read XML. Here is what comes up:

Francis MarianiDon't you need MS Office 2003 or later for these compound reports? Perhaps the Windows 2000 PC does not have Office 2003...

jgelonaAlek_, are you using Excel 2002 or higher? I believe that is a documented requirement.
The reason I ask is the first one of these I did, my PC OS with W2K. I had to upgrade to Office 2003 to get the output.
