We'll be integrating some WebFOCUS reports into WebSphere Portal 6.1, and after reading through the Open Portal Services documentation, I still have some questions. I'm mostly a portal guy, so forgive me if I use improper terminology around WebFOCUS.

1. I see that the JSR 168 portlets aren't supported for WebSphere Portal, but is that simply because they weren't tested there?

2. Is there a difference in functionality between the WebSphere Portal portlets (written using the IBM API) vs the JSR 168 portlets? I couldn't find a list of functionality differences, but perhaps that's because there isn't one?

3. I see that the WebFOCUS application (e.g. webfocus76.war) needs to be deployed as well. It appears that the portlets connect to it, and it in turn connects to the reporting server. When I deployed the webfocus76.war to WebSphere, it's looking for a number of files and directories on the local filesystem that I don't have. Do I need something else installed as well?

Thanks in advance.

Dave
