[CLOSED] Excel file - displays some entries in Alpha Column incorrectly as blank

Running WF 7.7.01 gen 79.

I have a fairly simple Excel file that I mapped via ODBC.

Column in question is SHIP_PHONE, A255V, A255V,$

The column itself is defined as "text" in Excel.

Values like (212)555-5555, or 212-555-5555 display just fine in my report.

However, values like 2125555555 display as blank. As a test, I created a simple DEFINE using the ARGLEN subroutine, and for the values in question, 0 is returned.

Thoughts? Ideas? What am I doing wrong?

Muchas Gracias!

My guess is that excel is actually converting that field to a number field. I would make sure that the field is actually text. I generally would force the field as text with a preceding tick (').
